The following is a summary of the 1/30/2012 information session. Thanks to those of you who attended, and we hope to see more of you in the future!
President: Tony Huang
FMA has been revamped and improved over the last few months! We are now working with the graduate FMA and coordinating with other finance organizations. We have new leadership positions available, and we are overhauling our website as well for information distribution. We are also in the process of getting chartered, and have plans for many more events in the future!
What can FMA do for you? You will have opportunities to network with finance professionals and develop an understanding of various financial career fields. You will also be able to attend resume workshops and mock interviews, and will learn to interpret current events in the financial markets and understand their effects. Last but certainly not least, you will have access to many fun events and competitions! Included in these are speaker events, financial forums, leadership presentations, an annual finance exposition, an annual stock market challenge, and trips to financial hubs like New York and Chicago.
Specifically, you can expect to be exposed to the following industries in FMA: Investment banking, sales and trading, corporate development in Fortune 500 companies, investment management, and more.
Membership Requirements
To join FMA, the only requirements are your name, email address, and $20 for this semester’s dues. Please see the Apply page for more details.
Leaders of FMA will be in the College of Management Undergraduate Commons every day from now until this Friday, February 3rd, to collect dues ($20). See below for a schedule of when they will be there. Look for a FMA tag at one of the tables. Dues will be used to pay for food during speaker events as well as other exciting exciting events and opportunities we have planned. You are not a member of the FMA until you have paid your dues, and you will not be allowed to attend FMA events until you have done so. All dues are cash only.
